On April 18, the Feedback Video Conference of the 2023 External Review of the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) Advanced Diploma (AD) Program was held online as scheduled. Professor Tao Tao, Dean of IC (International College of Xiamen University), Ms Yang Shuai, leader of professional group, Chen Jianru , the program coordinator and some faculty representatives attended the meeting. In the on-site feedback meeting, IC once again passed the external review of SQA with the "highest trust level" after 2019.

This external review is a comprehensive review and comprehensive evaluation of the teaching and management level of  IC by the quality control department of SQA, covering many aspects such as the operation of the college, software and hardware facilities, student support, examination and internal review process, and data archiving, etc. Ms. Sarah Reid, Quality Assurance Manager of SQA and the External Reviewer of this year pointed out that IC was able to overcome the impact of the epidemic and pass all indicators with the "highest trust level" at one time, which reflected the standardization, professionalism and rigor of IC, and she also highly praised the professional quality of our teachers and the collaboration of the teaching team.

Dean Tao Tao attended the feedback meeting of the external review, and he fully affirmed the efforts made by all the teachers of the professional group for the external review, thanked and recognized the pertinent opinions put forward by the external reviewers, and thanked IC for their strong support for the program. He said that IC will adhere to the high-quality student training as the center of work, and hoped that everyone will continue to improve the education and teaching work of the program in the future.

In order to promote the educational cooperation and exchanges between China and the UK and cultivate international high-level application-oriented talents, China Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE) of China Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) jointly introduced the SQA Advanced Diploma( AD) (3+1 program) to China in 2003. Combining the high-quality curriculum system of foreign countries with the high-quality educational resources of domestic universities, highlighting the people-oriented and the student-centered philosophy, it has created a new model of cross-border education and become an effective way for students to study abroad. Since the program was established in 2006, more than 3,000 students have gone to overseas partner universities for further study through the program, and the enrollment rate has remained above 95%. Among them, nearly 85% of students choose to pursue for master's degrees in the overseas prestigious universities after graduation. Over the years, the pass rate of our institute participating in the external review of SQA courses has reached 100%, and the teaching quality has been praised by SQA and similar universities.
